David Warner took a dig at his Australian teammate Glenn Maxwell, who was commentating during the Big Bash League match between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades. However, Maxwell has been doing commentary for the BBL after being ruled out of the competition in November last year with a leg injury. He is on the road to recovery and can be expected to be back in action during the IPL.
Warner, on the other hand, is playing in BBL after the Test series against South Africa and is representing Thunder in the mega event. During today’s match between Sydney Franchise and Renegades, he had a mic and was talking to the commentators when he decided to sledge his Australian teammate as well.
David Warner asked if Maxwell would ask Australia coach Andrew McDonald for a break after his stint as a commentator in the BBL. He would cheekily congratulate Glenn, saying that he was also doing a good job. Maxwell sarcastically said that it was good to see Warner back in the game, which left everyone in the commentary box in splits.

“Is Maxie going to call Andrew McDonald and ask for a break after this commentary? He’s been there for a while and he’s been crosscoding as well. It’s one of those things we laugh about but Maxie, you Doing a great job,” said Warner. It’s good to see Davey giving back. Isn’t he doing it for the love of the game?” Maxwell said.
