Indian captain Rohit Sharma has said that the Indian team will have to prepare to bowl in the dew in the World Cup after losing the toss in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. Dasun Shanaka won the toss and elected to bowl first while dew has been predicted in the second half as well and could play a crucial role in the game as well.
Speaking after the toss as quoted by Cricbuzz, Rohit Sharma said that he was happy to bat quickly despite the fact that he would have also opted to bowl first. He also said that with the World Cup round the corner, he will have to learn to deal with bowling in the dew as well. He further said that it was all about getting the basics right and shared that the team also needs to move in the right direction.

“We are happy to bat first. We would have liked to bowl too, it’s a good challenge. The ground was covered with dew yesterday. There will be times when we will have to bowl under dew, we have to be ready for that as the World Cup is round the corner. It’s about getting the basics right, it’s important to do things differently from time to time. We need to keep moving in the right direction. After the toss, Rohit Sharma said, ‘It was good to play an ODI here last time, hopefully we will have another memorable game today.’
