As quoted by India Today, Irfan Pathan said, “When Rohit Sharma was coming back the only thing we wanted to see was his fitness, which we saw running between the wickets. But the best part was that the patient side of Rohit Sharma was seen in his batting where he took his time.

The former Indian all-rounder said that Rohit was batting brilliantly against Sri Lanka and was waiting for the balls to hit his stumps.

Elaborating on the same, Irfan Pathan said, “Rohit Sharma batted brilliantly from the start when he hit his first boundary straight down the ground. After that he was waiting for the balls to hit his stumps.

He said that against the Sri Lankan spinners, Rohit used his power while playing his pull shots and using his feet.

Explaining the same, Irfan Pathan said, “He played to his strengths. We saw pull shots. We also saw him using his feet against the spinners and playing big shots straight down the ground. So he scored runs all over the park.

Seeing Rohit, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill scoring runs at the top, Irfan Pathan said it is a great sign for Indian cricket.
