India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka with a 4-wicket win in the second ODI on Thursday. Kuldeep Yadav became the man of the match as the chairman bowler ended the contest with impressive figures of 3 for 51 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
After his match-winning performance with the ball, the spin wizard decoded his game plan and strategy along with fellow spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Yuzvendra Chahal congratulated Kuldeep for taking 200 wickets in international cricket and being named man of the match in the 2nd ODI.

When Chahal asked him about his favorite wicket out of the 3 wickets taken by him, Kuldeep Yadav said, “Shanaka’s wicket was really important as he was doing really well in the series… Team meeting Everyone was planning to get him out, definitely an important wicket. I have worked a lot on my batting… I practice in the nets whenever I get free time.

Talking about the evolution of his bowling approach, especially in the middle overs, the left-arm wrist spinner revealed, “Over the years, my mindset has changed a lot… I focus more on my performance and wicket-taking. Used to concentrate but now my aim is good length bowling. Whenever I play ODI, Test cricket or T20 match, my focus is on bowling well.
Kuldeep Yadav didn’t hesitate to thank his fellow wrist-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for his advice and bowling inputs.
