the toss India chose to bowl vs new zealand
Rohit Sharma made a dramatic pause of over ten seconds after winning the toss in the second ODI in Raipur and finally said he wanted to bowl. The India captain said that he had almost forgotten what the team’s decision was because “there was a lot of talking in the team group about what we wanted to do”. India challenged themselves by bowling under floodlights in the first ODI. This time, however, he changed his decision due to dew expected later.
Both teams went into the game unchanged.
New Zealand captain Tom Latham said he would have opted to bowl and he was not entirely sure how the pitch would behave in his international debut for the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.
The ground has large square boundaries, and Grant Elliott said in the pitch report that he expected some pace and bounce into the game.
India lead the series 1-0 after a 12-run win in the first ODI, which went into the last over after India scored 349 runs.
