‘Right decision taken by leaving out Ishaan and Shreyas’, big statement of former BCCI President Ganguly, said, everyone should play domestic cricket

New Delhi.Former India captain Sourav Ganguly said that BCCI has taken the right decision by terminating the central contracts of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer. Both have been excluded from the BCCI’s central contract list released on Wednesday.

In a major decision, BCCI has dropped both players from the central contract.

Whereas both players were part of the Indian team in the ODI World Cup that ended last year. Ishan Kishan last played for India in November 2023. Whereas Iyer took part in the second test against England.

Ganguly justified BCCI’s decision
Speaking to RevSports, Sourav Ganguly said that the BCCI’s decision on Kishan and Iyer was right. He stressed that contracted players are expected to play. Iyer was part of the Grade B contract, while Kishan was on the Grade C list last season.

Sourav Ganguly said the BCCI wants him to play first-class cricket. I am surprised that Shreyas and Ishan have not played in the major tournament, the Ranji Trophy. This is BCCI’s decision, and they were right. But players must play first-class cricket.

Ganguly further said that you should play, especially when you are talented like Ishan Kishan. When you are playing for India in all formats, you have to play. Yes, BCCI has taken a tough stance, and rightly so. When you are under contract, you have to follow the rules.
