On his return to the national team for ODIs, India skipper Rohit Sharma was seen consoling a fan as he could not control his emotions upon meeting the talismanic opener. After the successful completion of three T20Is, the Men in Blue will be involved in a three-match ODI series which begins on January 10 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
Before the first ODI, after leaving the press conference, Rohit stopped outside the stadium to meet and greet some of the fans. Among them was a young fan who couldn’t hold back his emotions on seeing the captain and tears welled up in his eyes. Rohit then went to the fan and tried to pacify it in an adorable way.

“What’s the matter of crying, you are a small child. You have such fat cheeks. After this the captain took a selfie with the fan before leaving.
While there is debate on whether Hardik Pandya should replace Rohit as the captain of the T20I team, the latter, however, claimed that he has no intention of quitting the format just yet.
“We only have six T20Is, three (against Sri Lanka) have ended and we have three against New Zealand. So, we will look after those boys till we get to the IPL and see what happens after that. But certainly I have not decided to give up this format.
After getting the better of the Islanders in the shortest format, Rohit Sharma and Co. will look to keep the momentum going with the 2023 ODI World Cup in mind. Both Rohit and Virat Kohli, who were not in the T20Is, will make their return in the 50-over series against the Lankan Lions.
