India skipper Rohit Sharma missed the recently concluded T20I series against Sri Lanka due to a thumb injury and Hardik Pandya was also named as the skipper. This gave rise to speculations that in future Rohit may only lead in ODIs and Tests. But, the Indian skipper has cleared the air about his T20 career ahead of the ODI series against Sri Lanka starting on Tuesday. He claimed that he “hasn’t decided to quit” on the format.
“We only have six T20Is, three are over. So we will manage, you know, take care of those boys till the IPL. Then we will see what happens after IPL. But certainly I have not decided to give up this format. “At the moment I think it has been made clear in the past that this is a 50-over World Cup year for us. And for some players it is not possible to play in all formats. If you look at the schedule, there were back-to-back matches, so we decided looking at the workload of some of the players, we want to make sure they get enough break time and manage that. I definitely fall in that (category) as well.”
