Saba Karim said that India does not need Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in T20 – SBB Times

Former Indian wicketkeeper, Saba Karim has said that there is no need to select legends of the game, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, to represent India in T20Is. Both of them were rested from the recently concluded three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, which the Men in Blue won 2-1.

Speaking to News Sports, Karim said that there is no need to pick Rohit and Kohli for India’s T20 team, but if they have a good season in the Indian Premier League (IPL), they can be considered. He explained, “I think there is no need to take him at present. Yes, if he does well in the IPL then he can be considered.

Saba Karim further said that both Kohli and Rohit may have a great IPL season and if that happens, the selectors will not be looking beyond them.

The former wicketkeeper explained, “It is likely that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will have a great IPL season. If that happens, the selectors will not be able to look beyond them. Same happened with Dinesh Karthik last year. .

India won the three-match T20I series 2-1 with a 91-run win over Sri Lanka in Rajkot. Earlier, India had won the first match of the series in Mumbai by a narrow margin of just two runs. After this, Sri Lanka registered a 16-run win over the hosts in the second T20 match played in Pune.
