After a dominating series against Sri Lanka, India’s star players in the series, Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj, have seen significant gains in the ICC ODI rankings. The former Indian skipper has now moved up to the fourth spot in the batsmen’s rankings, while Siraj has moved up to the third spot in the bowling rankings.
Virat Kohli, who scored several centuries in the recently concluded ODI series, was adjudged the Player of the Series for his stellar performance. His incredible skills saw him jump four places in the ICC rankings to climb to the fourth spot with 750 points.

He could move up to the second spot in the upcoming series as he is not far behind the South African pair of Rassie van der Dussen and Quinton de Kock, who are second and third respectively. Meanwhile, India’s pace bowling sensation and perhaps their best ODI bowler at the moment, Mohammed Siraj has claimed career-best rating points to climb to the third spot in the bowling rankings.
Mohammed Siraj continued to perform well in the Sri Lanka series where he bagged nine wickets in just three matches. He has been in scintillating form in ODIs since the start of last year, and he could well beat Trent Boult at the top of the bowling charts in the upcoming schedule.
The Men in Blue will now host the Kiwis in a three-match ODI series starting January 18 in Hyderabad.

In the lead-up to the series opener, India lost Shreyas Iyer to a back injury, ruling him out of the upcoming series. Rajat Patidar has been named in place of the injured batsman, who will travel to the NCA for further assessment. Meanwhile, T20 superstar Suryakumar Yadav is likely to replace Iyer in the playing XI for the first match of the series.
