Virat Kohli credits India’s throwdown specialist for batsmen’s success
Indian legend, Virat Kohli is back to his original best. Continuing his sublime form, which he picked up at the end of 2022, Kohli hit his second century in 2023, playing another match-winning innings of 166 as India won 317 against Sri Lanka in Kerala by the biggest margin in ODIs. However, in an epic gesture following the series whitewash by Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, BCCI.tv introduced three India support staff members – Raghu, Nuwan and Daya – who will serve as throwdown specialists for Team India. We do.
In the video shared by BCCI, Virat Kohli said, ‘You all know Raghu, we have talked a lot about him. Then there is Nuwan. He is from Sri Lanka, but he is more Indian now. and mercy. He joined a few years ago and is now an integral part of the team. In my opinion, he has given us world class practice everyday. He challenges us in the nets like anybody bowling 145+ or 150 kmph and always tries to get us out.

He further explained, “Sometimes it seems intense, but for me, it has been the difference in my career from where I was as a cricketer before I started doing this kind of practice to where I am now.” A lot of credit goes to how these people helped us to practice regularly. Their contribution has been incredible. You guys must remember their faces and names because behind our success are these people. It takes a lot of hard work.
Team India’s next assignment is a three-match ODI series against New Zealand starting January 18, which will be followed by a three-match T20I contest.
