In the second qualifier of the inaugural season of the International League T20, MI are clashing with the Gulf Giants at the Emirates Dubai International Stadium. In the second over of the game, Giants pacer Chris Jordan took a flying catch off Carlos Brathwaite while standing at first slip to send back MI opener Andre Fletcher.
Earlier in the game, Giants captain Lorcan Tucker won the toss and elected to bat, a decision that did not go well as they were reduced to 34/2 after the first six overs. However, the Giants suffered a major blow in the very second over when Andre Fletcher struck.
On the fourth ball of the second over, Brathwaite bowled a full ball inside the tramline and Andre Fletcher took the bait and attempted to hit it over cover but only managed to get an outside edge and was caught by Chris Jordan. The slip fielder leaps high in the air to take a brilliant catch. Jordan took the catch with his fingers, his cap fell off as he came down but he had full control of the ball. No hero from Fletcher today.
